The DG Jones Agri Ltd Powys Lanes Rally organised by Epynt Motor Club will take place this weekend.

The road rally is based in Llandovery and has attracted a full entry of 90 cars.

The rally cars will start arriving at Llandovery Mart from 5pm on Saturday, November 9.

The cars will leave Llandovery just before midnight and travel to the start of the rally just outside the town. The crews will then navigate their way through the darkness and over 100 miles until they return to the Castle Hotel for thefinish and awards presentation at approximately 4:30am on Sunday, November 10.

This is the 12th running of the DG Jones Agri Ltd Powys Lanes Rally and each time the event has been won by a Ford Escort MKII. So again, this year, the organisers are offering a free entry on next year’s event for the first non-Ford Escort to win the rally.

Gerwyn Jones of DG Jones Agri Ltd, who is sponsoring the event, said: “This is one of the best rallies of the year using the classic lanes of Mid Wales, which will be a true test for driver and navigator.”

Some of the top contenders running in the Master’s Class include:

• Jason Davies & Aled Richards, Ford Escort

• Andy Davies & Max Freeman, Subaru Impreza

• Richard Jerman & Alan James, Ford Escort MKII

• Arwel Rhys Hughes Jones & Dylan John Williams, Ford Escort

• Kevin Kerr & Keiran Price, Ford Escort MKII
