Fire crews battled a barn fire for nearly 20 hours over Sunday and Monday.

Crews from across Powys were joined by colleagues from Hereford and Worcester to tackle the large barn fire in New Radnor at around 9:15pm on Sunday evening.

The fire measured approximately 30 metres by 18 metres in a barn, which contained hay and machinery.

Crews used two ground monitors, two main jets, six hose reel jets, two water bowsers and 12 breathing apparatus sets to extinguish the fire and to prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings.

The barn was severely damaged by the fire and partially collapsed.

The final crews left the scene at 4:26pm yesterday (Monday).
