A stretch of the A4067 remains closed following a landslide earlier this week.
The section of the road currently closed is between Caerbont roundabout and the C0200 Heol Giedd junction on the Ystradgynlais bypass.
Powys County Council’s highways department said that more than 40 unsafe trees and more than 2,000 tonnes of loose debris are being removed. This is so that the bank can be fully stabilised before being deemed safe from further collapse.
Work will continue over the weekend with the aim of getting the road reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
