On Saturday, November 2, an all-girls football festival was held on the MoD pitch with Brecon FC Juniors.

Girls came from all over Wales to join in the football festival, where 30 to 40 players enjoyed mini matches and coaching drills.

Brecon FC Girls Junior Coach and festival organiser, Billy Brown, is hopeful that this will be the first of many. He said: “Thank you to all of the coaches and people that helped out on the day.

“The day was for girls of all ages and abilities to come and experience playing football and have the opportunity to take part in drills and mini match experiences. Girls came travelling from all over Wales to join in.”

The festival was supported by coaches from Brecon FC Juniors as well as several guest coaches. Head Coach and player for Celtic Nations Walking football and ex Welsh international, Mandy Gronicki helped out on the day, along with Rebecca Mathias from Aberystwyth Town Women and Carys Burton from Barry Town Women.

Several Talgarth Town Ladies team players also volunteered to coach at the festival.

Coached by Billy Brown, Brecon FC’s all-girls team have recently decided to enter the South Powys Junior League, where they will take on boys’ teams and mixed teams in their maiden season.
