A band and choir joined forces for a spectacular evening of music in Knighton recently.

Knighton Town Silver Band invited Rhayader and District Male Voice Choir to perform at Knighton Community Hall on Saturday, April 6 for a Musical Spring Spectacular.

They were also joined by local, Jemma Tranter, on her debut appearance with the choir as a soloist.

There were rousing tunes from the band such as Ar Hyd y Nos and Men of Harlech and uplifting choral harmonies from the choir.

The choir’s performances included Gwahoddiad, Unchained Melody and a beautiful rendition of Comrades in Arms.

Jemma’s pieces included Hallelujah and The Rose.

The choir are now preparing for their annual concert on June 23 at Rhayader Sports Centre - and have secured a world-class musician for the evening.
