The BBC National Orchestra of Wales (BBC NOW) is set to bring a night of beautiful classical music to Brecon tomorrow evening.

The ‘Elegant Romantics’ concert at Theatr Brycheiniog features a mix of romantic charm and powerful symphonic works.

The concert will begin with Fanny Mendelssohn’s Overture, a delightful piece full of sweeping melodies and delicate textures, before leading into Elgar’s Cello Concerto, a deeply emotional piece shaped by the mood of post-WWI England.

Bryan Cheng, the talented and award-winning cellist, will make his debut with BBC NOW as the soloist, promising a stunning performance.

The night will close with Brahms’ Symphony No. 4, a monumental work full of passion and beauty.

The concert will be led by Simone Menezes, an acclaimed Italo-Brazilian conductor known for her dynamic and expressive style. This performance marks her debut with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and her unique energy and passion are sure to bring a fresh, exciting perspective to the evening’s programme.
