Brecon residents positioned themselves outside St Mary’s Church on a recent weekend to demand a ceasefire and demand an end to Israeli violence against Palestinians in Gaza.
Those who gathered said that people passing on the Bulwark were “almost entirely positive’”.
The vigil will continue from March 29 and then fortnightly.
“The British government must uphold international law, stop supplying arms and military support to Israel, and acknowledge the basic human rights of the Palestinian people,” member Denny Fitzpatrick says.
“We want the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza to stop. Arrest warrants have been issued by the International Criminal Court for the Israeli Prime minister and the former defence minister, for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
“We aim to raise awareness to show that in the majority of the world, Brecon residents abhor the grave injustices suffered by the Palestinian people. We want the British Government to end its arm sales and its silence over Israels continued disregard for International Law. Without justice there will be no peace.”
