The Brecon Dhampus Twinning association is set to host a welcome event and coffee morning next month.

The event will take place at Brecon’s Guildhall on Saturday, October 12, from 10am.

If you are interested in finding out about Brecon’s Nepalese community, or visiting Brecon’s twin town Dhampus in 2025, please come along.

Dhampus is a village in Kaski District in the Gandaki Zone of northern-central Nepal.

In 2019, town councillors described the “incredible welcome” they received in Nepal as Brecon became the first UK town to pair with a Nepalese village.

A party of 23 people flew to the village of Dhampus on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

Brecon is also twinned with Gouesnou - Brittany (France) and Saline City - Michigan (USA).
