A psychologist from Brecon and her daughter are set to embark on a bike ride of more than 300 miles across Asia for a charity close to their hearts.
Dr Sylvia Davies and Alice Davies will be cycling from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, a distance of approximately 332 miles.
The charity bike ride will take place next month (February).
Sylvia and Alice are taking on the challenge to raise funds for Parkinson's UK.
Sylvia's father (and Alice’s grandfather) - Tony - died of Parkinson’s disease in September 2023.
Tony taught Sylvia how to cycle from an early age, and they shared many happy trips out cycling. This included various sponsored rides, such as a trip from Manchester to Blackpool, and a longer journey from Cork to Kerry around 20 years ago.
Sylvia hasn’t been on a bike since then, so this is a huge challenge!
Any support in raising funds for Parkinson’s UK would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Alice is no stranger to fundraising for Parkinson's UK, having raised more than £1,000 for the charity with a 12,000-foot skydive back in 2022.
Parkinson's disease is a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years.
Although there's currently no cure for Parkinson's disease, treatments are available to help reduce the main symptoms.
Parkinson's UK is a leading charity that drives better care, treatments and quality of life. By funding the right research into the most promising treatments, they get closer to a cure every day.
