Brecon’s famous TARDIS rugby raffle aims to raise even more money for Cancer Research Wales during the upcoming autumn international rugby fixtures.
The Welsh men’s team is set to take on Fiji on November 10, Australia on November 17, and South Africa on November 23.
To show your support for this worthy charity and have a chance to win a prize, why not pick up a raffle ticket or two the next time you’re in town?
The TARDIS will be in Brecon town over the coming weeks, selling tickets for the jerseys of Wales, New Zealand, and Australia, as shown in the picture above, worn by some of the Brecon Ladies team. There will also be t-shirts available as prizes for the runners-up.
Husband and wife team Lorna and Butch Keylock have been raffling rugby jerseys ahead of every Wales game in the Six Nations Championship for more than 20 years to support Cancer Research Wales. They raise thousands of pounds each year for the Brecon and Sennybridge branch of the charity and have raised an estimated half a million pounds over their lifetime. Earlier this year, the couple raised £4,005 during the 2024 Six Nations by raffling off shirts for every matchday.
The autumn internationals provide an opportunity to raise even more money for this worthwhile cause.
Butch and Lorna’s message to the public is: “The young ladies are doing this off their own backs, realising that cancer is everyone’s enemy.
“So come along and support, because after all, if you ain’t in it, you can’t win it! Good luck, God bless, and keep safe.”
Cancer Research Wales is dedicated to transforming the lives of cancer patients across Wales. The charity is committed to reducing the impact of cancer and improving the unacceptable survival rates across the country. By 2030, it is estimated that 230,000 people across Wales will be living with cancer, so research has never been more important.
