A new family law solicitors has opened in Brecon town centre.
On Monday, November 25, owner of the new firm, Sophie Box held an opening event for the business.
Sophie’s business, ‘Sophie Box Legal Services,’ will be offering family law services including: divorces and finance, private child contact, domestic abuse, cohabitation, prenups and postnups, lasting power of attorneys and wills.
The office is located on the High Street in Brecon.
Speaking about the excitement of opening her own firm, Sophie told the Brecon & Radnor Express: “It’s probably a dream I’ve had since many years ago. I wanted to do law for as long as I can remember. Going back to when I was in high school, people knew this is what I was going to do.
“I’m still in a bit of a state of shock I think, it’s only hit me this morning (day of opening) when people have been coming in.
“The reality is starting to kick in now that it’s real and it’s mine, and all the hard work has finally paid off.”
Sophie spoke about the process of starting her own firm. She said: “You have to be three years qualified to set up your own firm, which was February this year for me.
“I put in my application just to try and see what happens, and then in the summertime we got approved. This space had come up too and it sort of all just fell into place as there used to be a solicitor here anyway, where I used to work. I trained there and qualified as a solicitor with them.
“We are offering family law services, so divorces and finance, private child contact, domestic abuse, cohabitation, prenups and postnups, lasting power of attorneys and wills.
“It’s all family related services for now, but we’ll see what the future holds.”
