Builth Male Voice Choir will kick off their 2025 season with their annual St David’s Day concert.

It’s their biggest concert of the year and will be held in Builth Wells Sports Centre on Saturday, March 1 at 7:30pm (doors open 7pm).

The choir will be singing a wide range of traditional and modern songs in both Welsh and English. Some songs have been specially arranged for the choir by the acclaimed arranger, conductor, organist and pianist, Jeffrey Howard.

This year’s solo artist will be singer-songwriter Sara Davies. Sara won the S4C Song For Wales competition in 2024. She has just released her new single and first taste of her forthcoming album, ‘Dal yn Dynn’, on St Dwynwen’s Day. Dal yn Dynn (Hold Me Tight) is the first track to be released from her upcoming spring album.

At the 2015 Urdd Eisteddfod, Sara won the women's solo, came second in the musical solo, and also won the Olwen Phillips scholarship.

In 2017, Sara was second in the mezzo-soprano solo competition at the National Eisteddfod and in 2019 (Llanrwst) and 2022 (Tregaron) she won the soprano competition and went on to compete in the Blue Riband competition. She enjoys any opportunity to perform in concerts and has sung with Bryn Terfel as part of a chorus.

Sara graduated with a first-class degree in music from Cardiff University in 2018 and completed a PGCE in education in 2019. Since then, Sara has been working as a music teacher at Ysgol Henry Richard in Tregaron, alongside her music career.

The concert is supporting Builth Wells Community Support, the charity helping people live healthy, independent lives within their community.
