The Post Office in Builth Wells will relocate to a new premises next door, it has been confirmed.
Post Office will move into Crown Buildings (formerly Barclays Bank), 11 Broad Street.
The branch is currently at 1 High Street.
The move was originally proposed in February, but has now been given the green light.
Post Office is currently making the final arrangements for the move and they will then announce the relocation date.
The move is seen as an opportunity to move into larger premises in order to expand the retail area of the store. Post Office says the move will help secure continued access to services locally and ensure their long-term viability for the community.
The premises will undergo a refurbishment to incorporate Builth Wells Post Office and a convenience store.
Customers will access Post Office services at two Post Office serving points alongside the retail counter.
The Post Office will offer the same range of products and services.
The opening hours will remain as Monday to Saturday: 8am – 10pm; Sunday: 10am – 2pm.
During consultation, customers welcomed and supported the move because the new location is located next door and offers level access to Post Office services.
The Builth Wells branch of Barclays closed on March 6.
Barclays said the reason for the closure was due to fewer people visiting the branch and more people banking online.
