On Sunday December 10, Cancer Research Wales Brecon and Sennybridge Committee held their third annual Christmas Carols and Canapés evening at Treberfydd, Llangasty with grateful thanks to Sally and Hugh Martineau and family.
A wonderful sum of more than £1,000 was raised for the charity.
Sally is a member of the Raikes family who have lived in the magical Victorian country house since it was built in 1852 and it was warm and festively decorated for the occasion, with a roaring log fire in the hall in the heart of the house and in the drawing room.
Hundreds of delicious canapes were served and the main raffle prize was a very large Christmas hamper brimming with wine and delicacies, won by a delighted Punch Maughan.
At 7pm enthusiastic carol singing began around the piano in the drawing room, ably accompanied by the Rev. Trina Lodge. Many compliments and thanks were received by the committee for what had been a most enjoyable and happy evening.
