Gareth Pearson, Head of Christ College Brecon said: “I wish to extend a huge congratulations to our Year 13 pupils; these results are truly outstanding and reflect the incredible dedication and hard work of this exceptional year group.

“I couldn't be prouder of our pupils' achievements, and I’m deeply grateful to our staff for their unwavering support and guidance over the past two years.

“We’d like to celebrate our students not only for their impressive A-level results but also for the meaningful contributions they've made during their time at Christ College.

“We believe in an all-round education, and we’ve been fortunate that so many of our Year 13 pupils embraced the opportunities here, both inside and outside the classroom. These experiences are invaluable as they prepare for life beyond school.

“I wish them every success as they embark on the next exciting chapter of their lives.”

70 per cent of students secured spots on their first-choice university courses, including Dentistry, Medical Pharmacology, Law, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering, amongst other competitive subjects.

Deputy Head (Academic) Harry Mackridge said, “These results are outstanding and reflect the conscientious, diligent approach this cohort undertook during their A Level studies. The results are particularly impressive, with 1 in 8 pupils securing three A* grades or more – quite the achievement in a year when national standards returned to their 2019 levels.

“We’re justifiably proud of the achievements of our 2024 leavers and wish them all the very best as these results provide a springboard to highly competitive university destinations.”
