A 14-year-old girl will appear in Crown Court next month on an attempted murder charge.
Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court heard the accused repeatedly stabbed another girl with a kitchen knife on Thursday.
The girl was arrested at 2:30am on Friday after the alleged attack at Coelbren, in the far south of Powys.
She was charged with attempted murder, as well as possession of a bladed article.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries where she is said to be in a stable condition.
The two girls have not been identified because of their ages.
At Merthyr Magistrates' Court today, the judge said the seriousness of the charge meant it had to be dealt with by a Crown Court.
The girl will appear at Swansea Crown Court on December 18.
