A hardworking Year 4 pupil has raised over £200 for Children in Need by selling home-made badges in school.
Darren Allsop, from Cradoc School, went above and beyond for this year’s appeal after raising an incredible £230.15 for the charity.
It was just a few weeks ago that Darren decided that he wanted to raise money for Children in Need, so he spent his time manufacturing Pudsey Bear badges to sell in school. He initially set himself a target of raising £50.
After selling the badges to his friends and staff for £1 each in school last week, Darren quickly realised that his home-made gifts were going down a storm.
Due to the unprecedented demand over the week, Darren had to increase production from his kitchen table, and eventually reached his total - almost five times the original target he set himself.
Headteacher Judith Morris said: “Well done to Darren, a great effort and super donation to Children in Need!”
