New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five of Powys’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Chans Kitchen at Unit 13, The Old Creamery, Four Crosses, Llanymynech; rated on November 22

• Rated 5: Talybont Stores at Talybont On Usk, Brecon, Powys; rated on November 22

• Rated 5: ESS Compass Contract Services (UK) at Officers Mess 160th Infantry Brigade & Hq Wales, The Barracks, The Watton, Brecon; rated on November 16

• Rated 4: Rich Way Cafe at Unit 4/5, Penycamlais, Rich Way, The Watton; rated on October 25

• Rated 2: Sylhet Bangladeshi Restaurant at 1 Longbridge Street, Llanidloes, Powys; rated on July 17

It means that of Powys's 406 similar establishments with ratings, 280 (69%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
