New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine of Powys’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Lakeside Boathouse at Under Lakeside Restaurant, Prince'S Avenue, Llandrindod Wells, Powys; rated on May 15

• Rated 5: Hennighans Bottom Shop at 44-46 Heol Maengwyn, Maengwyn Street, Machynlleth, Powys; rated on May 14

• Rated 5: Dan Yr Ogof at Catering Pod, Abercrave, Swansea, West Glamorgan; rated on May 10

• Rated 5: Dan yr Ogof Activities Centre (Shop) at Abercrave, Swansea, West Glamorgan; rated on May 10

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And four ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: Horse & Jockey Inn at Wylcwm Place, Station Road, Knighton, Powys; rated on May 21

• Rated 5: CFC Sports Bar at Elvicta Football Ground, Elvicta Estates, Crickhowell, Powys; rated on May 10

• Rated 5: The Cafe Bar at Dering Lines, Brecon, Powys; rated on May 10

• Rated 5: The Red Lion Hotel at Duffryn Road, Llangynidr, Crickhowell Powys; rated on May 7
