Members of Natural Mid Wales, a group of tourism operators with a passion for wildlife in the area, are inviting you on this special weekend in Spring.

Spring – it’s our signature season and a great time to visit the Welsh countryside go walking, cycling, horse riding and take an adventure.

"We can’t promise the sun will shine. We can’t pretend the footpaths, tracks and trails won’t be muddy. But we can guarantee you birdsong, lambs, wildflowers and glorious daffodils. Dark Skies event at the Elan Valley

For a special Adventure to the Dark Side of the Elan Valley...join the Astro Rangers and fellow astronomers from Elan Valley Astronomy Community on April 2 from 4pm at the EV Visitor Centre, where you will be taken on a celestial journey of what’s in the skies in the coming months by Aberystwyth University’s Astronomers and their free Planetarium shows.

If skies are clear during the evening, telescopes will be available outside for you to personally observe the amazing Dark Skies for yourselves. You will be guided into viewing such celestial delights as Jupiter, the Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy and our own Milky Way. Learn how to ’star hop’ your way around the Constellations and how to find North by using the stars!

Please feel free to bring along your own telescopes and tripod mounted binoculars ...help will be on hand if you have any queries on how to use them as well.

Remember to bring along cameras and Iphones as you may well be able to get your own photos using the telescopes.

Dry Stone Walling in the Radnorshire Hills

Spend a few hours learning the basics of building a dry stone wall with professional dry stone waller and landscape historian, Stuart Fry who was recently on TV in Iolo Williams “Brecon Beacons”. Have your own adventure Walking through History

Find out how four thousand years of history has made its imprint on our landscape. Stuart Fry, a landscape historian will give you a fascinating insight into how our ancestors lived in these hills. He will show you how to recognise Bronze Age field systems and the impressive ditch and bank enclosures of the warring Iron Age tribes.
