An opticians in Brecon has reaffirmed its commitment to helping children in the local community stay safe when travelling to and from school by donating 500 high-visibility vests.

Specsavers Brecon has been working with seven local primary schools including Llanfaes Primary School, Priory Church in Wales School, Mount Street Nursery and Infant School, Ysgol Y Bannau, Llangors Church In Wales School, Cradoc Primary School and Ysgol Penmaes to improve road safety in the area.

“Working with our local primary schools has also given us the opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of eye health and regular testing among children. We recommend that children have their first eye examination around the age of three or four to ensure their sight is in good condition.”
