Over the last 30 years or so I have needed Brecon MIU several times overnight.

I suffer from a condition which causes my throat and tongue to swell despite the use of an Epipen. I have rushed to the hospital for a top-up of adrenaline and all has been well.

However, if the health board goes ahead with its planned night-time closure the dash to Merthyr in winter and with the current disruption to traffic could prove fatal.

The parents of young children, who always seem to time being poorly at night, must be beside themselves with worry at this news.

We cannot rely on hard-pressed paramedics so we do need Brecon MIU to stay open at night. The same goes for Llandod. I beg the health board to reconsider.
