During April, Llais Powys is undertaking a period of public engagement in and around Brecon, to better understand how the community feels about their health and social care services.
Llais is the national, independent body set up by the Welsh Government to give the people of Wales a stronger voice in their health and social care services.
Llais is here for you, to make sure health and social care use your views to shape your services. The seven regional Llais teams will gather your views about services, offering a complaints advocacy service where needed. They also keep you informed about changes health and social care are planning to make to services that affect you.
The remaining public engagement sessions in and around Brecon are as follows:
Monday, April 22: Brecon Hospital Outpatients (10am - 12pm) and Brecon Co-op (12:45pm - 2pm)
Tuesday, April 23: Sunflower Birth Baby Sessions, The Muse (10am - 12pm), Uplift Singing Session, Theatre Brycheiniog (12pm - 1:30pm) and Brecon Youth Club, The Muse (7pm - 8.30pm)
Wednesday, April 24: Parkinson's Group, Llangorse Community Centre (2pm - 4pm)
Thursday, April 25: Tea Toast & Talk, Trecastle Community Centre (9:30am - 12:30pm)
Monday, April 29: Free Cuppa, Cake & Chat, Brecon Guildhall (10am - 2pm)
The first sessions were held earlier this week at Crafternoon, Brecon MIND, Ty Croeso (Monday) and at Brecon Medical Centre and Green Minds, Brecon Cathedral (Tuesday).
Andrea Blayney, deputy regional director at Powys Llais said: “As we’ve been working around the county over the last 12 months, we have enjoyed meeting people, hearing their stories and learning about their experiences of health and social care.
“We are working closely with the Local Health Board and Local Authority to ensure that they consider people’s views and experiences when they are reviewing and planning their services.
“We look forward to meeting you in Brecon area and hearing your stories. Please do come along to speak to us – your voice really does matter.”
