The Llandrindod Children’s Eisteddfod committee is pleased to announce that the 2024 event will be held on Saturday, October 12.
The event will take place at Holy Trinity Church in Llandrindod Wells
The Eisteddfod is set to begin at 9:30am, with doors open from 9am.
Hosting a variety of competitions for children aged 11 and under, the Eisteddfod is sure to have something for everyone to enjoy.
The Eisteddfod is, at its heart, a showcase for young talent. Children from Llandrindod Wells and its surrounding areas will compete in a variety of spoken, sung and musical events on the stage on the day.
In addition to this, a variety of written pieces and artwork are submitted for judging prior to the event. The results of these competitions will then be announced on the day of the Eisteddfod.
All schools in the surrounding areas have been urged to take part, and parents can also enter their children individually for the singing, reciting and playing competitions.
Entry to the Eisteddfod costs just £2 and is to be paid on the door.
A raffle will also taking place on the day with a variety of prizes on offer.
Low cost refreshments will also be on sale, and a presentation of the offstage competition pieces will be available in the St Francis Centre.
Llandrindod Children’s Eisteddfod is also a bilingual event, and therefore, children can choose to perform in either Welsh or English.
At 12 midday, the much anticipated school choir competition will take place. The winning school choir will be awarded the Perpetual Cup. To be in with a chance of winning the coveted trophy, each choir will have to sing a song in both Welsh and English.
Grateful thanks must be extended to all the volunteers who ensure that Llandrindod Children’s Eisteddfod runs seamlessly.
The committee is actively seeking new members and stewards to help with the event. If you are interested in getting involved with these opportunities, please speak to a steward on the day of the Eisteddfod or message the committee on Facebook.
