Llanwrtyd & District Heritage & Arts Centre is once again calling on artists from across Wales to showcase their talent in its third annual art competition, set to take place in July 2025.

Following the success of previous years, this highly anticipated event promises to celebrate creativity under the theme: Simply Astounding (Gwirioneddol Wych).

The competition offers generous prizes, with the winning artist receiving £500, the runner-up securing £250, and an additional Visitors' Choice award worth £100. Finalists' artwork will be exhibited in the gallery at the Centre throughout July 2025, giving them a unique platform to share their work with the public.

A panel of judges will carefully assess submissions, with the selection process culminating in a special preview and judging event on Saturday, July 5. The competition is open to various artistic mediums, including paintings, drawings, original prints, art photography, and mixed media works. However, all pieces must be designed for wall display and framed to gallery standard. Video and sound art will not be accepted.

All selected works will be available for sale during the exhibition, providing a fantastic opportunity for artists to gain recognition and engage with art enthusiasts.

Applications close on Tuesday, April 1, and full competition guidelines, along with entry forms, can be downloaded from the Centre's website: https://history-arts-wales.org.uk/art-competition-2024/

Artists are encouraged to submit recent work created within the past three years that reflects the Simply Astounding theme.
