A BRECON woman has celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her family.
Millie Williams, who now lives in Prospect Close, Brecon was born in in John Street in 1916. She was raised by her mother Amy Finch after her father, Harry, who was a member of the South Wales Borderers, died as a prisoner of war in World War I shortly after Millie’s birth.
Millie was married to Reg, an assize court trumpeter, for 55 years and they had twin daughters Jennifer and Judy as well as son Peter. Millie also has nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
