Brecon has secured its place as one of the top driving test centres in Wales, boasting an impressive pass rate of 58.9 per cent.
This makes it the third highest in the country.
Driving experts from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts have analysed driving test centre data and revealed where drivers are most and least likely to pass their driving test in Wales.
Newtown has the highest driving test pass rate in Wales of 67.7 per cent. In 2024, 1,835 tests were conducted, and more than half of these tests resulted in passes. 1,243 drivers passed their test at Newtown driving test centre.
Abergavenny test centre came in second position. Of 5,678 drivers who took their test at Abergavenny test centre, 3,427 drivers successfully passed their test - a 60.4 per cent pass rate.
Brecon rounds off the top three. Of 1,804 drivers, 1,063 have passed their test here in the past year, with an impressive pass rate of 58.9 per cent.
Only 2,990 drivers passed their driving test out of 6,471 at Newport, making this test centre the worst in the ranking - with a pass rate of 46.2 per cent.
The national pass rate average in the UK is only 47.9 per cent. Most driving test centres in Wales are above this national average.
