This month Macmillan Cancer Support reached out to the Old Railway Line Garden Centre to give thanks for passing an incredible fundraising milestone.
Over the past few years the garden centre, located between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye, has raised £21,149.97 for Macmillan.
Catering director, Shaunagh Cleary said: “We are so proud of our fundraising efforts for Macmillan and to pass £20k over a number of years is amazing! It’s a charity that is close to so many and we are proud to host a charity quiz and curry night and coffee morning each year in aid of the charity.”
Macmillan relationship fundraising manger, Nicola Newhams added: “We are so grateful for the Old Railway Line’s support, which helps us be there for people living with cancer when they need us most – thank you!
“This amazing total will help people and their families receive essential medical, emotional and practical support. Or could provide more than 60 people with cancer a Macmillan Grant. Our grants help cover the costs of everyday essentials such as being able to switch on the heating or to help with transport costs to attend vital hospital appointments.
“Thank you again so much to the Old Railway Line team, for helping us to continue to do whatever it takes to help people living with cancer, now more than ever your support means so much.”
