Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team received a callout on Boxing Day from South Wales Police to help find a missing person.
The person was believed to be somewhere on the mountain above Treorchy, Rhondda.
Working closely with local Police units and specialist search officers an area of mountainside was identified as priority search.
Team members were deployed onto the mountain including Search and Rescue Dog Association South Wales search Dog, Dug, and his handler Rhi.
Soon after starting their search, a team member with Dug and Rhi thought they heard a voice in the undergrowth some distance away.
Dug was deployed towards the area and soon after the missing person was located by Dug who wasted no time in guiding Rhi to his prize - his second missing person find in two days!
Their first ever operational find happened on Christmas Day, just a day earlier.
A spokesperson for Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said: “Well done Dug and Rhi!
“Thankfully the person was uninjured and after being fully checked over was able to be walked off the mountain to safety.
“Once everyone was safely off the mountain we returned to our base with members back at home just before midnight.
“We’re grateful to Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team for providing support, including their 4x4 vehicle which we used alongside ours to help transport searchers off the mountain.”
