There was an amazing turnout for the inaugural Sennybridge Show Quad Run at Cnewr Estate held on Sunday, August 18 - an entirely new event for the area.

The event was in aid of Eif’s Ewing Sarcoma Research Fund and for the Show, raising around £5000.

The chosen charity for the event was in memory of Eifion Price, Nantmadog, who passed away from the disease aged 14. He was in his element riding his motorbike on the farm. The charity raises vital funds for life-saving research into Ewing Sarcoma. Further details and to donate to this cause can be found at: www.bcrt.org.uk/eifion

Eifion Price
Eifion passed away on May 19 2024, just six weeks before his 15th birthday (.)

More than 150 vehicles took part in the Grand Cnewr Quad Run that started just outside Crai and made its way over Cnewr Estate, through forestry and to the top of Fan Gyhirych with spectacular views overlooking Crai Reservoir and over to Llyn y Fan Fawr. It was a chance to have a picnic at the top to admire the views and to socialise.

Many of the locals who have lived in the area all their lives have never been to the top. From there, everyone made their way down on to the old railway line and back to Cnewr, where Sennybridge YFC had a BBQ ready to feed the hungry bikers. The burgers for the BBQ were donated by John and Patsy Price with proceeds going towards the charities. A raffle was drawn with prizes kindly donated by the Scarlets, Quad Bike Wales, Smithfield tractors, ET James and many more.

The Devynock Agricultural Society want to thank everyone for their help volunteering on the day and to all for supporting a very successful and enjoyable day.
