A TALENTED young singer is headed to Russia after being selected for a prestigious new choir.

Nine-year-old Sophie Jones is no stranger to centre stage after starring in a variety of local eisteddfod and Urdd performances.

But the young vocalist from Heol Senni has really hit the high notes after being chosen from 300 hopefuls for the 60-strong Only Kids Aloud choir, directed by Only Men Aloud's musical director Tim Rhys Evans.
