Powys-based nonprofit organisation, The Blackthorne Trust, has been thrilled to receive the support of The Ashley Family Foundation through Community Foundation Wales recently.
The £5,000 award will enable groups and individuals from across Powys to take part in land-based living, support nature recovery and have fun learning agroecological skills.
Chair of the Trust, Rebbecca Ray, said: “Powys communities are resilient, nature loving communities and The Blackthorne Trust exists to help strengthen those skills.”
"Humans and the natural world can thrive together and by giving people opportunities to participate in land-based living, we want to generate optimism for building more sustainable futures together here,” she said.
The award will facilitate workshops and courses in soil health, organic growing, care for rare breed flocks and seasonal foraging and preservation.
Groups and individuals are encouraged to get in touch to arrange a visit and take part through www.theblackthornetrust.org
