Local MP David Chadwick has backed The Tai'r Bull Inn at this year’s Countryside Alliance Awards.

The multi-award-winning pub at Libanus has reached the Welsh final of this year’s “Rural Oscars”.

The Tai’r Bull Inn will be up against three other Welsh competitors in the “pub” category, as it flies the flag for Breconshire.

The awards, now in their 18th year, are driven by public nomination and celebrate the best rural businesses.

David Chadwick, MP for Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe, is urging local residents to vote for The Tai'r Bull Inn.

“The Countryside Alliance Awards celebrate those businesses that go the extra mile and are the cornerstone of our rural communities,” he said.

"Reaching the regional finals is a testament to the hard work and service that the Tai’r Bull Inn provides to the community. I will be following their progress with pride and will be championing their success.

Countryside Alliance Awards Director, Sarah Lee, said: “We have been overwhelmed by nominations this year. The secret to the Rural Oscars’ popularity is that they honour the people involved in these businesses and not just their produce or services.

“They exist to sing the praises of those who work hard to keep our communities and rural economy ticking, but don’t seek the spotlight.”

The Welsh final of the 2025 Countryside Alliance Awards will take place at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay on April 28. Winners and highly commended businesses will be announced on the night.
