A talk on trilobites will take place at 2pm on Saturday, April 12, in the Garden Suite at the Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells.
Dr Lucy McCobb, Senior Curator at Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales, will explore the world of trilobites - extinct arthropods closely related to lobsters, woodlice, and spiders.
Trilobites, iconic fossils found throughout the Heart of Wales Geopark, are especially abundant in Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells, and Llandegley. The earliest published record of these creatures comes from the Builth area.
Dr McCobb will also share her recent discoveries, including those from the Castle Bank fossil deposit near Llandrindod.
The AGM of Geoparc Calon Cymru/Heart of Wales Geopark will follow.
Both the talk and the AGM are free to attend.
