Hay Town Council has introduced a new milk bar at Brecon Road Playground as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance local community spaces and support sustainable practices.
The milk bar, named Wholy Cow, will serve fresh local milk, milkshakes, tea, and coffee.
Sourced directly from a nearby farm, the milk used in the bar ensures a tiny carbon footprint, reinforcing the town's commitment to British farming and eco-friendly practices. The initiative not only provides wholesome refreshments but also supports local agriculture by reducing food miles.
Cllr Fiona Howard, speaking on behalf of the Town Enhancements Team, shared their enthusiasm for the project.
“We’re thrilled to bring this initiative to Brecon Road playground,” she said.
“It’s a wonderful way to support local farmers, encourage sustainable practices, and create a welcoming community space for families and visitors. The Wholy Cow milk bar is an example of how small changes can make a big difference in supporting our environment and local economy.”
This addition is part of a broader strategy by Hay Town Council to improve public spaces and foster community engagement.
