FOR the first time ever a father and son have driven into office at Kington Golf Club, writes Andy Compton.
New men’s captain Brian Morgan was joined on the first tee by his son Keiran who is new the Junior Captain, they were accompanied by Ladies Captain Liz Lockwood and Ted Davies, the Seniors Captain.
The quartet took to the first tee at the traditional ‘Captain’s Drive In’ at the club on Bradnor Hill, which is considered to be one of the finest, natural inland links courses in the country.
The club has also recently welcomed Keith Preece, who has joined as the as the new PGA Class AA Head Professional.
Keith has over 25 years’ experience in the golfing industry and has established himself as a respected coach in the region.
His passion is developing new talent in the game through junior golf and so this year, the club’s aim is to build and grow their junior section through some fun coaching and exciting junior evenings that have an open-to-all theme.
Keith said: “We want to encourage as many juniors and families as possible into the game.
“We will offering junior golf for ages 10 and under free of charge in 2018.
