The main 2019 golfing year at Llandrindod Wells Golf club got off to a fine start on Sunday, with the annual Captains Drive-In Stableford.

57 golfers took part, with all sections being represented. 2019 club captain Rob Hanson got the proceedings underway with his opening tee shot at 8.16am.

Keeping him company was the new ladies section captain Julie Treacy, and the senior vice captain Vic Morgan.

Scoring proved tough, with an excellent score of 42 points from Paul Davies taking top spot. Tony Price was runner up with 38 points, with Phil Evans taking third place with the best of the 36 point scores.

Julie Treacy was best lady with 36 pts, with Sue Margrave-Jones second with 33 points.
