BRECON and Radnor County Golf Union enjoyed a successful day at the finals of the 2015 Shelter Cymru Welsh Mini Masters.

The event was held at the Celtic Manor Golf Resort on Tuesday October 27 and was held over the Montgomerie Course, played over either nine holes or 18 holes, depending on age and handicap. Conditions were very tough, with heavy rain causing the course to play its full distance.

Llandrindod Wells’ Zac Baker got the day off to a great start for Brecon and Radnor by winning the 18 hole Boys Stableford with a very solid score of 33 points. This was followed by Lewis Jones of Knighton Golf Club winning the Boys age 12 and over nine hole Stableford with an excellent 38 gross.

Just when Brecon and Radnor thought it couldn’t get any better, Joseph Forkings of Llandrindod Wells came in with the best score in the Boys eight to nine year old nine Hole Stableford, again with an excellent score of 39 gross.

The Llandrindod pairing of Dylan Sterry and Olly Densumbe also qualified for finals day, both performed well and capped off a great day for Brecon and Radnor’s juniors.
