A BRIGHT but breezy day greeted the golfers for the second winter stableford on November 6 and although the sun made it look inviting the wind made it quite challenging and it also had a bite to it as the day wore on.
The course is playing fantastic for the time of year with the greens still running fast and true and with the trees showing their full Autumnal colours, it is looking even more like a picture postcard.
The scores proved that the course is in great condition with the winner scoring seven shots better than his handicap, playing to a handicap of three, he finished two shots clear of his nearest rival and third coming in a shot further back.
There was also a hole in one for Brian Evans (Hay) on the 17th hole and although it didn’t propel him onto the leaders board it is still a very good achievement on such a difficult par three.
