A fire has broken out at an industrial estate in Welshpool.

Several fire crews were called out to the incident at the Severn Farm Industrial estate at 10:25pm yesterday (Tuesday).

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Welshpool, Montgomery, Llanfair Caereinion, Llanfyllin, Newtown and Presteigne Fire Stations responded to the fire. They are being assisted by crews from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

This incident is currently ongoing.

Crews are responding to a fire within a single-storey industrial property which has affected seven commercial units.

Crews are utilising breathing apparatus sets and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Local residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed until the incident is resolved.
