The Brecon Beacons Food Festival 2024 was a resounding success, attracting more than 8,600 visitors to the heart of Brecon on Saturday, October 5.

Visitors enjoyed a day filled with the best local produce, live entertainment - making it a highlight in the region’s event calendar.

One of the standout achievements of the day was the introduction of the Park & Ride service, organised by Accessibility Powys. Visitors were able to park at Brecon Cattle Market and use a free bus service into town, reducing congestion and providing a hassle-free experience. The service was thanks to McCartneys Estate Agents and Williams Coaches. The funds raised will directly support the valuable work of Accessibility Powys, which assists individuals with disabilities across the county.

Another highlight was the fantastic success of the exhibitors, with the majority of vendors selling out by the end of the event. This overwhelming demand reflects the festival’s growing reputation as a must-visit for food lovers, showcasing the incredible talent and craftsmanship of local producers.

Andrew Powell, the event organiser, shared his excitement about the festival’s success.

"This year’s festival was one of our best yet,” he said.

“It’s wonderful to see so many people coming together to celebrate local food, and the fact that most of our exhibitors sold out shows just how much support there is for small businesses in the community.

“I’d also like to thank everyone who supported the Accessibility Powys Park & Ride. A huge thank you to our exhibitors, visitors, sponsors, and volunteers for making it such a special day. We’re excited to announce that the date is already set for next year - Saturday, October 4, 2025 - and we’re looking forward to building on this year’s success.

“The success of this year’s festival wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Their contribution played a vital role in the event’s smooth operation and continued growth.”

The Brecon Beacons Food Festival continues to be a celebration of local food culture, and with next year’s date already confirmed, excitement is already building for what’s sure to be another fantastic event.
