Church bells will be tolled and prayers said today following the death of Her Majesty the Queen yesterday.
The Dean of Brecon Cathedral, The Very Revd Dr Paul Shackerley presided at a Requiem Eucharist this morning.
A service of choral evensong will take place at the Cathedral today (Friday) at 5.30pm.
The Cathedral will be open from 8am to 8pm daily between now and the Queen’s funeral for private prayer and the lighting of candles. There is also a book of condolences to sign if you wish, in the south transept.
There will be a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 12 midday daily from Monday, September 12 until the Queen’s funeral.
On Saturday, September 10 at 6pm, there will be a sung Eucharist for the proclamation of the new sovereign.
A special memorial service to remember the late Queen will be held at the Cathedral on Sunday, 18 September at 11am.
A book of condolence is also available at both St. Mary’s and St. David’s, Llanfaes.
