On Sunday, November 10, mountain rescue teams were called out to Pen y Fan where a male walker had fallen while descending the mountain.
The man sustained multiple injuries.
Due to a joint effort by Brecon Mountain Rescue Team and Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, the casualty’s injuries were dealt with on site and he was stretchered to one of the team’s 4x4s and transported off the mountain and taken on to hospital.
Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were called out again on Monday, November 11, to Bike Park Wales where a mountain bike rider had suffered a suspected broken leg on the mountain above Machen, Gwent. Assistance was also provided by Maritime and Coastguard Agency who airlifted the casualty off the mountain to the awaiting ambulance in the village.
A spokesperson for Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said: “We are grateful to Machen Rugby Club for allowing their rugby pitch to be used for the helicopter to land and transfer the casualty to road ambulance.
“We have experienced another busy few days and of course we send our best wishes for full and speedy recoveries to all the casualties we’ve helped.”
The team had also been called out to assist police in the search for a missing male on Friday, November 8, in the mountains above the village of Pontsticill. The man was found safe.
