A Pontfaen Young Farmers’ Club (YFC) Leader is pushing herself to the limit with a year-long series of endurance challenges to raise funds for two vital emergency response charities.

Caroline Frampton, a dedicated Club Leader, has set out to complete a different endurance event each month for an entire year in support of Wales Air Ambulance and Brecon Mountain Rescue.

Both charities play a crucial role in rural communities, providing emergency response and rescue services in difficult and often remote terrain.

Caroline, known for her generosity and willingness to help others, is determined to give back through her inspiring efforts.

Caroline has already undertaken the following challenges:

• September: Great North Run Half Marathon (Brecon Mountain Rescue)

• October: Cardiff Half Marathon (Wales Air Ambulance)

• November: Severn Bridge 5-Mile Night Race – Over the bridge and back (Brecon Mountain Rescue)

• December: Cardiff 5k Santa Dash (Wales Air Ambulance)

• January: A Cold-Water River Dip at Brecon Promenade (Brecon Mountain Rescue)

• February: Brecon to Cardiff Ultra – 43 Miles (Wales Air Ambulance)

• March: Great Welsh Marathon – 26-Mile Run (Brecon Mountain Rescue)

And she still has more to complete:

• April: Canum 40-Mile Ultra Trail along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal (Newport to Brecon) (Wales Air Ambulance)

• May: Wales Millennium Trail – 36-Mile Cycle (Brecon Mountain Rescue)

• June: 5k Parkrun every day for a month (Wales Air Ambulance)

• July: Pigum 30-Mile – Circular route around the mountain peaks and trails of Abergavenny (Brecon Mountain Rescue)

• August (Final Challenge): 10 Climbs of Pen y Fan in 24 Hours (Wales Air Ambulance)

Caroline hopes to encourage YFC members, parents, and friends to join her for the grand finale in August, even if just for a single climb of Pen y Fan.

Caroline said: "Living in a rural area, we all know how crucial the work of Wales Air Ambulance and Brecon Mountain Rescue is. Their teams save lives, and I wanted to do something meaningful to give back.”

Supporters can follow Caroline’s journey, cheer her on, and contribute to the cause by donating to her fundraising efforts. Every step, mile, and climb brings her closer to making a real difference for these charities.

Brecon Mountain Rescue Team is an emergency service staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by donations. The team provides specialist search and rescue capabilities, combined with emergency medical expertise, to find and assist people who may be in danger. They deploy their team all year round, in all weather conditions, on all terrains.

The Wales Air Ambulance delivers advanced lifesaving medical care to people across Wales 24/7. They are the only air ambulance charity, based in, and dedicated to, the people of Wales and rely entirely on charitable donations to raise £11.2 million every year to keep the helicopters in the air and the fleet of rapid response vehicles on the road.
