Councillor Liz Rijnenberg has announced plans for this year’s annual Reclaim the Night Walk in Brecon.
This year’s event, as part of Brecon Women’s Festival, will take place on Saturday, March 8 at 8.30pm.
The Reclaim the Night event promotes safer streets for all.
The walk will begin at Theatre Brycheiniog and conclude at The Guildhall in the centre of town, with music and refreshments at The Muse.
Accompanied by music, the walk will be done at a slow pace and the route is accessible for all.
In total the walk will take around 30 minutes and some local organisations will be involved in support of safe streets for all.
100 black ribbons will be made by Carol Kay, who is one of a group of female artists due to exhibit at Found Gallery during the Brecon Women’s Festival.
Walkers will be invited to wear the ribbons to symbolise the loss of those women who have been killed by male violence in the past 12 months.
