James Evans, MS for Brecon and Radnorshire, was delighted to attend Crufts on Saturday, March 8, where he had the opportunity to meet some lovely Welsh Terriers competing in the contest.

Established in 1891, Crufts takes place over four days, with more than 130,000 visitors attending at the NEC Birmingham, where it has been held since 1991. More than 24,000 dogs competed this year, including almost 4,000 dogs from overseas.

Crufts has a long-standing commitment to dog health and welfare, making it a key focus of the event. The Kennel Club has implemented a range of measures to ensure that all dogs participating are treated ethically and with the highest regard for their well-being.

Mr Evans said: “As a huge dog lover myself, visiting Crufts was not only an enjoyable day out, but has been useful and informative to gain an insight into the work The Kennel Club is doing around the health and welfare of our canine companions.

“We are a nation of dog lovers and informing the wider public on responsible dog ownership to give our pets the best possible life can only be a good thing.”
