On Saturday, June 15, North Books in Hay-on-Wye will welcome two local authors to sign and discuss their latest work to mark Independent Bookshop Week (15 – 22 June 2024).
Taking place on Saturday at 4pm and 11am respectively, they will be two of hundreds of events taking place at independent bookshops across the UK to mark Independent Bookshop Week.
Author Richard King is well known for his work on popular music culture as well as his non-fiction work on Welsh History published by Faber in 2022, Brittle With Relics. He will be in conversation with music journalist, Jude Rogers, about his lavishly printed biography of Arthur Russell, Travels Over Feelings, published by Faber last month. Richard will discuss the process and how the book came about from 4pm.
Another event during Independent Bookshop Week is on Friday 21 June when Kington-based gallery owner and artist Kathryn Moore will be discussing her beautifully-printed scrapbook A Brush With the Borders – An Artist’s Year. Kathryn will be signing copies during the bookshop pop-up café which runs from 10am-noon.
