The Radnorshire Wildlife Trust has thanked players of the People’s Postcode Lottery for their ability to continue essential conservation work.
The non-profit organisation said they were ‘incredibly grateful’ to players, meaning they can maintain the natural beauty of our reserves across the county.
A spokesperson said: “Core funding is a vital lifeline for charities like ours, enabling us to take on long-term projects that ensure the protection of both wildlife and the landscapes we care for. The support we receive allows us to address immediate needs and plan for the future, making a direct and lasting impact on the health of our nature reserves.”
Funding for the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust has allowed the organisation to achieve several key tasks, including bridge repair at Llanbwychlyn Lake Reserve, after years of wear and tear. Habitat management, where a significant amount of bramble was cleared at Burfa Bog and Cwm Bydogg, improving the habitats for local wildlife and ensuring the sites remain accessible for future conservation work. Ecological surveys, where staff-led rangers conducted ecological surveys throughout the summer, tracking the progress of a rewilding site.
They also responded to storm damage, carrying out extra tree safety checks by a reserves officer, with tree surgery performed where necessary to ensure public safety.
“We are truly grateful for the continued support, which helps us keep our reserves thriving for both wildlife and the local community.”
Funds are raised by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery and awarded by Postcode Planet Trust.
