Last Sunday, Talgarth Bowling Club hosted an open triples competition, fielding teams from Mid Wales, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, West Glamorgan and Monmouthshire.

24 teams competed for the newly established ‘Gerald Rhodes Cup’, in memory of former club stalwart, Gerald Rhodes.

The final was won by ‘The Wood Chuckers,’ consisting of players from Llandrindod and Presteigne, who overcame ‘Fatty’s Boys,’ of Graig Merthyr/Whitland, in a high-quality contest.

The tournament was sponsored by Sytner BMW Cardiff, Welsh Country Foods, Ashburnham Bakery and St. Mary’s Bakery.

A percentage of the proceeds from the day, will be donated to Dementia UK.
