Builth Wells kept the pressure on Goodrich at the top of the GB Liners Marches League first division with an impressive 115-run win at Woolhope.

Batting first on a sticky wicket, Builth faltered as they slipped to 40 for 3 with Richard Galton (10), Sujeewa Senarathe (18) and Aled Powell (0) all back in the pavilion. Captain, Dylan McPhee set about establishing a total as he put on 67 with veteran, Paul Rowe before being caught and bowled for 44. Tanzeem Raees was run out without scoring but anchorman Rowe and Tumelow Yeki continued the good work before Rowe himself was run out for 29 just before a rain break. Yeki departed for 47 leaving the ever reliable Martin Hurst (23 not out) to take Builth to 211 for 7 from 41 overs.

A Duckworth Lewis calculation then set Woolhope a target of 224 in 41 overs.

Builth have been excellent with the ball all season and bowled the hosts out for 108 – a feat which included hat-tricks for Tumelo Yeki and Dylan McPhee, fresh from his four wicket haul for Wales Over 40s the previous week. Paul Greenway (1-13) made the early breakthrough and Yeki struck in his third over bowling all three batsmen to record a hat-trick. Yeki then took a catch to give McPhee his first wicket as Woolhope slumped to 25 for 5. Ben Park (45) and Tom Lacey (21) then showed some resistance before McPhee(4-43) took centre stage. He remarkably became the second Builth player to record a hat-trick in the same match before Yeki (5-30) wrapped up the win bowling the final two batsmen in successive balls.

The weather robbed Hay of another win at the top of Division Two as their match against Wormelow 2nds was abandoned with the visitors in trouble at 48 for 5. Hay were put into bat and racked up 269 for 4 in their 40 overs with Luke Bowen leading the way. Bowen scored a superb 160 from 124 balls with 19 fours and 10 sixes as he shared in an opening stand of 232 with Tim Masters (69).

Mark Burgess (3-20) then tore through the Wormelow top order reducing them to 8 for 3 and Huw Griffiths (2-25) took another couple of wickets before rain stopped play after just 12 overs.

Builth Wells 2nds saw their encounter at home against Woolhope 2nds reduced to 20 over a side and found the shorter format to their liking as they notched only their third win of the season. Opting to bat first, Builth made 161 for 7 with Ryan Brown topscoring with 34. Eurig Towns (30), Steff Towns (21) Ian Morgan (20) and captain, Jon Curzon (19) also chipped in as The Bulls scored at a good rate. In reply, Woolhope were dismissed for 116 to give Builth a 45-run victory. Ian Morgan picked up 4-23 while there was a wicket each for Eurig Towns, Dai Davies, Gruffydd Fletcher, Steff Towns and Kevin Hall.
